The Coach, Andrew, has a plan for us…us being the 25 members of the Level 1 Team. Tuesdays will be dedicated to running, Thursdays on the bike and Saturdays in the pool. What we just found out is that he has added other workouts for us to do in addition to the team training. Andrew has warned us that 3 hours of team training a week is nowhere near enough to get ready for a triathlon. We have a suggested training schedule, but can mix & match the workouts to what works with our personal lives. Bottom line, you have to want this to make it work. You have to make the time. I have decided to continue working out with Andrew privately 2 days a week. Clearly, this is an adjustment to the life I had been living…looks almost sedentary before this.

The 25 members of the team are women & men, varying ages and fitness levels. There are also numerous reasons for them joining the team. The obvious reason is to train to race in a triathlon. Also, to get fit, learn proper form & technique and just for fun. I’ll let you know how I feel about the fun factor as we really get into this! For right now, it is getting used to the schedule & getting up so early. Also, learning about different muscles and feeling things in your body that you might have never felt before. Ironic that the world is getting ready for the Olympics to start…I feel as though we are training like serious athletes, not the usual trip to the gym for a workout. It definitely is encouraging to have other people around and know that we are going through this together.
