Training was awesome. Exhausting, but awesome. It made me realize that I am toast if I try to do this all by myself. Not that I couldn’t, but the risk of getting hurt or not being ready are too great. We spent time in the training doing each element – running, cycling and swimming. At least half of each session was on drills though. We broke down different elements to basically do each as efficiently as possible. Particularly on swimming, I can see the benefit of getting lessons/coaching. Fingers crossed, I will figure out a way to do their beginners training program. They stressed that is worth getting form right first, even if the race isn’t for a while.
