The 8 Week Full Throttle training officially started today. Running today was a bit humbling. First, I am the slowest. I shouldn’t care, but, I still have an ego. I also think that my nerves get to me. I run longer when I train on my own than I was able to do today. The group is great though. About half men, half women. We range from early 20s to mid-60s. Mind you, the person in their mid-sixties has done three triathlons….amazing. I need to pick a race to do. South Beach triathlon is the first major triathlon of the season, but it is a bit costly for the travel and second to the challenging training, is the cost of everything I need. Bike, clothes, spinning shoes, heart rate monitor, helmet…and the list goes on. I won’t lie…there are many moments when I wonder why I am doing this, but right now, it is really about just showing up. We get the full training later this week with what we should be doing on our own. I am really looking forward to shaking up my schedule and taking everything up a notch.
