So, to end the first 8 week training we have an indoor triathlon, which happened this morning. For the first time since we started training, I am sick. Really sick. So, while it may sound like I managed to eek out of an indoor tri and a grueling workout, the truth is that I watched, totally bummed out. There was a moment when our trainer came over to me when everyone was doing the bike segment and said – you are totally bummed, aren’t you. It took my by surprise, because it was exactly what I was thinking at that moment. I did manage to run a couple laps with my team mates to give them support, but there was something really sad about missing the thing we had all worked towards. It was clear that everyone broke through the unknown and there was something reassuring about having gone through all of the motions – swimming in a wetsuit, transitions, the effort to go through all three legs of the race.
