The Metabolife Triathlon Blog
A little about me. My name is Niki. I work as Director of Marketing for the Metabolife brand. As you may or may not know – Metabolife creates weight management products - so, if I didn’t already have reason enough to think about my weight and health, this job keeps it on my mind all the time. Over the past few years, I have gone through times of really taking on weight loss and fitness and losing up to 50 lbs. and times of total plateau…like right now. Generally, to shake it up, I need to take on a big goal and put some major structure in place. At least, this has worked in the past. Honestly, there is always some sense of struggle though. Which, brings me to my latest discovery…CNN posted that they are looking for 5 people to train for their first triathlon. I felt like I was looking for a big challenge and one just showed up. I haven’t ever really thought of myself as an athlete. I work out in order to be healthy, but that is more like trying to fit in exercise into my lifestyle vs. taking on the lifestyle of an athlete. In this case, a tri-athlete. Knowing that it will totally shake up my routine is actually quite motivating. To put this in perspective, let’s just say that I could easily stand to lose about 40lbs and have only done a 5K once, but walked part of it. My next project is that I have to submit a video to CNN by 12/14.
