The Metabolife Triathlon Blog

In the spirit of “I start now”, our Metabolife Marketing Director, Niki Simoneaux, has decided to do her first triathlon this year. She, along with two other women on her training team have agreed to track their progress and experience through this blog in the hopes that it might inspire others to take on healthy lifestyle changes and challenges. As you can imagine the process has its ups and downs, but you will get to hear it all right here.

After pushing myself for a hour- I may say I am improving my cadence- I...

I woke up at 5:30 this morning and immediately rushed out of bed. I didn't think at all because I was still asleep but I managed to get out of my apartment and hailed a cab. To my surprise I arrived in time to get the full cycling work-out. My coach kept repeating to increase my cadence but I...

I woke up in a fog and made a choice to take the day off from tri training. I woke up at 4:30 this morning to prepare for the morning group ride. It was dark when I awoke and I scrambled to get ready after enjoying a cappuccino and oatmeal. (I even squeezed in enough time to read the depressing news.) When I looked at my watch, I realized that I had ten minutes to get...

Barf. That is all I can describe what is going on with my body. I want to throw up but my stomach is fine. My entire body wants to throw up and pass out. I didn't anticipate feeling this way post work-out but I am now without any regrets, of course. This morning we cycled for a solid 60 minutes...

A few years ago, I witnessed participants of the Nautica NYC Triathlon in Central Park. I was amazed at the number of people who were participating including many with disabilities. I was truly moved and inspired by the sheer power and commitment each one of the participants possessed. I knew...
